I found my mojo

We had to move in January and I think I had packed away my mojo, the inspiration for creativity, because I had no interest what so ever to do something creative. While I was going through some of the boxes I felt growing desire to try out something. I had bought some new supplies so I thought I would try them out. Two of these backgrounds I had done sometimes last year and I got finish them now.

For the background I had used Distress oxide inks. I used the Heidi Swapp -stencil twice: on the first time I applied some acrylic iridescent medium by Liquitex, when that had dried I placed the stencil to the same place and applied some texture paste (opaque crackle) by Ranger. And when that had dried I gave it more color with the glimmer mist by Tattered angels. On top of all that there are micro beads, both clear and golden. First I adhered the clear ones in a random pattern and brushed them over with the Finnabair's acrylic paint (metallique ancient coin). Then I added the golden micro beads to give that gold shine.

Plant your own garden of happiness
This one is a very simple piece. I didn't even make the flowers myself. I cut them out from a chocolate box (Geisha by Fazer). I had saved the flowers since last Christmas. The background is just a tryout to see how the powders in the Lindy's Nantucket pearls Magicals set would look like. I simply sprinkled each color on the paper and then spritzed some water over it. When the paper was dry, I remembered the flowers and wondered if they would look nice here.

Don't be afraid
This background has been re-done several times. I think I started it with acrylic paint and then gessoed over it. I might have repeated it a few times. The last time I also tried the Prima's white  impasto paint to fully cover it. I also applied some coarse texture gel by Liquitex as well as a little splotch of crackle texture paste by Ranger. For coloring I used both Lindy's and Tattered angles mists. The micro beads are on top of some glossy glue stuff (Glass drops by Fabrika decoru). I added some white gesso for finishing touches.
