The first Christmas cards for this year
I made these 12 Christmas cards for charity. I donated them to the mentally handicapped support association in Kajaani, Finland. They are not going to be sold but given away. I'm not sure, if the recipients are personally mentally handicapped or are they family members. But anyway, I hope these cards give some joy to whomever they are going to.
Some of the cards were quick to create, some not so quick and some made me really struggle with them. There is one that I least like, almost dislike it. It's the one with Magnolia's Tilda holding a lantern. The elements don't match and the sentiment should have been something similar to the background text. It would have been prettier if I had used some of my better stuff but I decided to stick with less used materials, extra pieces and pre-stamped and half-colored images (I did finish the coloring). Some of the die cuts and images (like the polar bears, Santas and the dog) were received from fellow crafters. The polka-dot Christmas tree had troubles finding it's place and because I didn't own that die cutter myself I couldn't make a new one. Or I could have done it the old-fashioned way with pen and scissors but I didn't want to do extra work. The big poinsettia flower was also given to me in happy mail. It was already assembled, so I just added some glitter glue to it.
I will continue with foxes and spruce cones when I'll make the cards which I will send to my friends and family. I originally planned to do something with spruce branches and cones but after making that fox card I wanted to make more of them. These are just prototypes, so the outcome will be slightly different.
