Wedding cards

A close-up of that shaker heart

This wedding shaker card I made in the beginning of February 2020. I used neutral colors and tried to keep it somewhat simple. The "Hääparille" (=to the wedding couple) chipboard I covered with Lindy's Magic moon pearls embossing powder. The background papers and the die cuts were from Kaisercraft. I used some wide organza ribbon and narrow satin ribbon to give the background more texture. The sequins are Premium sequins (bridal) by Buttons galore.

The heart dimension set by Fabrika decoru wasn't quite as good as I had hoped. When I opened the packaging I noticed that the acetate heart had scratches on it, so I had to cut a replacement for it. The foil on the golden heart was peeling of from one area, so I peeled it off all the way. I tried to add some glitter glue and sprinkled golden microbeads over it but the result wasn't satisfying. So I cut a new heart frame from a glitter cardstock. The foam piece was okay until I accidentally poked it. I checked the damage and it peeled off from the glued paper too easily. All the microbeads and sequins spread all over the table. So, I ended up using foam tape.

I had to check a few tutorials on how to make those arches neat and round with the foam tape. The trick was to take a long piece of foam tape, fold it and then cut it in half. The narrow foam tape was easier to put in place. Also the backing paper had to be removed first. I should have put one more layer of that foam tape. The sequins and microbeads tend to get stuck.

The first wedding themed shaker card

This second card is actually the first wedding card I made. The background paper was from a paper pad by 13@rts. The heart die was probably by Poppy stamps (or Memory box). I cut the hearts from a gold foiled cardstock. The "Ihan hitokseen onnea" (=hell of a lot congrats / luck / happiness, roughly translated) chipboards were covered with two types of glitter glues. The card didn't need much decorations, so the last details were to add some small glass cabochons.

Inside the blue flowered card

The shaker card had pretty much the same text written inside. I just used a different font and a different patterned paper for the background.
